The Wonderland of Worries

As a kid I had my own wonderland, a beautiful dreamy place with tons of happiness, loads of goodies and zillions of wishes to keep me busy. However as I grew up I felt my dreams were passing through a dark tunnel into the hands of a wizard who fills my wonderland with worries, fears and anxiety. And not to mention my dreams turned into nightmares. This happens with most of us, the innocence of childhood fades away when we enter the real world, the simple pleasures of life are all gone and what we are left with are responsibilities, insecurities and not to mention their byproduct; worries.
Out of the college world and all of a sudden the surroundings change! Whether its marriage or a new job the world suddenly appears to be a chaotic place, where you meet unknown faces, have challenging responsibilities and you need to travel far away land leaving behind your comfort zones. Years later the charm is gone and you become a complex person. You no longer enjoy the sunset or walk by the sea or rather do not have time for it. Some of us miss seeing our kids grow and some stop caring for our parents' health. Life becomes so much occupied that we sometimes forget when was the last time we had a hearty laugh with our favorite people. But this is not really what we had wanted; there is no point in chasing success without being happy.
Every morning before holding a remote in one hand and newspaper in the other I think we should rather stop and try to grip the remote of our own life. We worry about all petty things which we can do nothing about and try so desperately to change others without focusing on ourselves. We get tangled with so much negativity that we forget a positive mind is the most relaxed and productive one. It is said that like attracts like, good thoughts lead to more goodness and worries lead to yet more worries. Moreover unless we are contended from within we have nothing to give anybody. And the best way to be exuberant is to be our self and not try to belie. All of us have something great in us, exploring that greatness and expressing gratitude for what we have rather than brooding over what we don't is what makes a difference. A person who cannot appreciate what he has now can never be fulfilled in future.
So, life is all about doing things that you enjoy, finding time for that which reconnects you with pleasure. It's about finding meaning in life, because I believe life my friend is not just about setting goals and reaching them but also enjoying the process of doing so. I think what we give is what we get, so go ahead give it the best and enjoy what is returned. After all a happy mind has the wonderland without worries, and we all so long for it!
